Paris, 2008, "3rd international Salon for Peace Initiatives"

In the framework of the “International Decade for the promotion of a culture of nonviolence and peace for children of the world (2001-2010)” declared by the United Nations in 1998, the French Coalition for the Decade organized its 3rd international Salon for Peace Initiatives which was held at the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie at Paris, Porte de la villette from 30th May to 1st June 2008.

The salon gathered around 200 organisations that work in specific fields towards peace making.The International Sufi School responded to the call and presented its contribution and field of action towards peace building and creating awareness to non violence. It was an opportunity for the School to contribute to the event's aims which was dedicated to exchanging on the culture of peace and non-violence through the presentation of concrete actions, through common thinking, activities and conferences at different levels :

  • Helping discover the culture of peace and non violence
  • Calling for peace building together
  • Presenting initiatives from all over the world
  • Raising public awareness to the culture of peace and non-violence
  • Welcome and propose activities and education for chidren and teenagers

We organized Workshops for school children and teenagers, raising their awareness to inner peace through discussion. A workshop on liberation therapy helped participants reflect on the origins of judgements, the difficulties they encounter in their couple and all other relationships.
